Pergola Awnings

Outrigger manufactures a range of awnings to suit pergola structures. The awning can sit on top of the pergola, within the pergola frame, or underneath the pergola. The awning may be in the form of a sail, or it may be a retracting awning, or it may be a batten awning. All pergola awnings are custom designed and manufactured in Outrigger's factory.

An Outrigger pergola awning can be manufactured to almost any shape or size. They are zig zag stitched by a sailmaker and utilise Tenara sewing thread. Pergola awnings can be manufactured as a rainproof structure utilising a premium grade teflon coated pvc fabric, or they may be manufactured with an open weave shade fabric.

Sail type pergola awnings are tensioned at each corner be either a stainless steel turnbuckle or a pulley system. They offer great flexibility with regard to shape and form, and will blend in with almost any style of home. Retracting pergola awnings and sails are commonly utilised when a contempory looking non-permanent structure is required. A batten pergola awning will transform a pergola into an outdoor room. Batten pergola awnings are always elevated above the pergola to maximise cross flow ventilation and to direct rainwater run off into existing roof gutters or drains.

Pergola awnings can be designed either with a frame or without a frame. The frame increases the strength and stability of the awning and is generally only utilised on timber pergola structures. An Outrigger pergola awning is an engineered structure that is designed to withstand winds from 80 to 140 km/h. They are covered by Outrigger's comprehensive guarantee.
